If you ever find yourself walking down Roy Bahadur Road in Behala, you’ll probably see our sign at number 42. Jayanta Samanta & Co. has been a fixture here for a good amount of time. It’s a typical local spot where things are done the old-fashioned way. We have a small desk, a few chairs, and a lot of files that seem to grow every month. The neighborhood of Behala is always noisy with cars and people, but inside our office, we just focus on the task at hand. It’s a small team, mostly just us and a couple of helpers who know the ropes. We don't use a lot of fancy technology if we can help it. Paper and pen still work fine for most things we do. People drop in to talk or drop off documents, and we usually offer them a seat if there’s one free. It’s not a polished environment by any means. There might be some dust on the shelves and the tea kettle is always going in the back corner. We deal with whatever comes through the door. Some days are long, especially when deadlines are tight. But we like the routine of it. It’s honest work and it keeps us connected to the people around Roy Bahadur Road. We’ve been here so long that we know most of the shopkeepers nearby. It is just home for us and we keep going.
