We are tucked away in Salt Lake, Kolkata, at GD 239. It is a pretty recognizable part of the neighborhood. Jas Forwarding World Wide operates from here, and it is a decent place to work. Salt Lake is a lot greener and quieter than the middle of the city, which we all appreciate. The office is basically a converted house, so it has that lived-in feel. We handle forwarding and logistics, which means a lot of coordination and phone calls. You can usually hear three or four people talking at once about containers or customs papers. We have a small area where we keep the documents, and it gets a bit messy when we are busy. We don't have a big sign outside, just enough so people can find the gate. Most of the time, we are just sitting at our desks looking at spreadsheets. In the afternoons, we usually take a break for some biscuits and tea. It is a simple routine. We have been in this GD block location for a while, and the neighbors know us. It is not the kind of place with a fancy lobby or elevators. We just walk in, sit down, and start sorting out where things need to go. We deal with people from all over, but our base here in Kolkata is very low-key. It is a practical way to run things without all the unnecessary polish or corporate talk.
