You can find us in Burrabazar, which is probably one of the most crowded parts of Kolkata. We are on Mahatma Gandhi Road at number 161/1. We sit in Room 45 on the second floor. Getting up the stairs can be a bit of a workout, especially on hot days. The building is old, like most things in this part of town. Outside, the streets are a sea of people, handcarts, and yellow taxis. It’s noisy and there’s always someone shouting or a horn honking. Inside the room, it’s a bit quieter but not by much. We have files everywhere. Transport is a business of details, so we keep everything on paper. We don’t have much room to spare. There are a few desks pushed together and a ceiling fan that hums all day long. People come in and out with delivery notes and receipts. We’ve been here for a long time. Burrabazar has its own rhythm, and we are just a small part of it. We don't have any fancy air conditioning or modern furniture. It’s just a place to sit and manage the transport business. We focus on getting the goods moved through the city and beyond. Sometimes the traffic in Burrabazar is so bad that nothing moves for an hour, but that’s just life here. We take it as it comes. It's a busy life in a busy room in a very busy city. We just make sure the logs are updated and the transporters know where to go.
