J C Chakraborty & Sons

We have been here at 6, Old Post Office Street for a lot of years now. If you know Dalhousie, you know it’s always crowded and a bit loud with all the traffic. Our place is right beside the Kolkata High Court, so there are always people rushing around with black coats and files. J C Chakraborty & Sons isn't a fancy place with glass walls or anything like that. It’s just an old office with high ceilings and some wooden desks that have been here longer than I have. Most days start with a cup of tea from the stall nearby and then we get to work. We handle a lot of paperwork and people coming in and out all day. It gets a bit dusty because of the old building, but we’re used to it. Sometimes the fans make a clicking noise that we just ignore. We don’t really do big advertisements or anything. People just find us because we’ve been in this spot forever. It’s a simple way of working. We show up, do the tasks on the desk, and go home when the sun goes down. There isn't much to say other than we are just a local family business trying to keep things moving. The location is the main thing, being so close to the court means there's never a quiet moment. We just focus on the day-to-day stuff and keep the files organized.
