You can find us at 90 Phears Lane, up on the fourth floor of Nanda Tower. We are in Room 401. It is a busy part of Kolkata, near the Central Metro Station's north gate. Silpo Bhawan is right beside us, so that is usually the landmark we tell people to look for. The building itself is an older one. The elevator works most of the time, but on the days it does not, the four flights of stairs are quite a workout. Our office is mostly filled with tall metal cabinets and stacks of papers. It is not the most organized looking place to an outsider, but we know where everything is. J Agarwal & Company has been operating out of this room for many years now. The windows look out over the rooftops of 700012, and you can always hear the traffic down on the street. It is a bit loud, but we are used to it. We spend our hours answering the phone and looking over various documents. There is no big reception desk or a waiting lounge. Visitors just pull up a chair next to one of the desks. We do not use any complicated systems, just the basic stuff that gets the job done. We are just a few people working together in this small corner of the tower. It is a straightforward office without any frills or corporate polish.
