The office is at 91/7A Tollygunge Road. If you know Kolkata, you know this area is always moving. It’s right in the middle of everything. Ivrcl Infrastructure & Projects Ltd operates from an older building that has a lot of character. The floors are made of that old red stone, and they stay cool even when it’s humid outside. We have big ceiling fans that hum all day long. Outside, the trams and buses go by constantly, so there’s a lot of noise. We don’t really notice it anymore. We have a small crew here, mostly engineers and some clerks. There’s a lot of paperwork because of the various projects. The desks are covered in calculators and measuring tapes. We usually get our snacks from the street vendors just outside the gate. The tea comes in little clay cups. It’s a very traditional setup. Sometimes the power goes out, and we just have to wait it out or work by the windows for better light. We’ve been here for a long time, so we know the local shops and the postman quite well. The office isn't about looking fancy; it’s just where we coordinate all the bridge and road work. People come in with muddy boots from the sites and we don't mind. It’s just a regular work day for us in Tollygunge. We finish up and head home like everyone else.
