Ionexchange India Ltd. is situated at 14/A, Nabaliapara in the Behala area of Kolkata. We are quite close to the Chowrasta, which is a major crossing that everyone in this part of the city knows. Behala is famous for its narrow lanes and the constant buzz of people and rickshaws. Our office is tucked away a bit, so it is slightly quieter than the main Diamond Harbour Road, but only just. The building is an old one, typical of this neighborhood, with thick walls and high ceilings that help a bit with the heat. We don't have any fancy signage or a big reception area. You just walk in and you're right where the action is. We spend our time managing water projects and talking to customers who need help. It’s a very hands-on environment. Sometimes the monsoons cause a bit of water-logging on the street outside, but we just carry on as best as we can. The staff here mostly speaks the local language and we’ve known each other for a long time. It feels less like a company and more like a small community. We don't use a lot of big words or complicated charts. We just look at what needs to be fixed and we go out and do it. It’s a busy life here in Behala, but we are used to the rhythm of the place and the local tea is great. Sometimes the traffic makes it hard for our vehicles to get in, but we manage somehow.
