Ion Exchange(I) Ltd. is located in Sector 1 of Salt Lake in Kolkata. Our office is at Bf-265, specifically Flat-1. Salt Lake is a bit different from the rest of Kolkata because the streets are laid out in a grid, but it still has that local charm. The building is a typical residential-style structure where we have taken up the ground floor space. It’s quiet enough most days, though you get the occasional fish seller shouting their prices on the street outside. Inside, the rooms are filled with desks and a few cabinets for all the water treatment files we keep. The humidity in Kolkata is no joke, so the fans are always spinning. We have a small team here and we’ve been in this Sector 1 spot for quite a long time. It’s not a high-rise office with a view, but we like it because it’s easy for the staff to reach. The flat is a bit cramped when we have a lot of supplies delivered, but we make it work. Sometimes we sit out on the small porch during lunch just to get some air. We don't really do the whole corporate branding thing inside. It’s just a place where the work happens and we try to stay on top of the service requests. Salt Lake has a lot of trees, which makes the walk to the bus stop okay even when it's hot. We usually walk down the street to grab some tea from the stall on the corner in the evenings.
