Intercommerce

You can find us at 32, Monohor Pukur Road. It’s a nice enough street in a part of South Kolkata that still has some of its old charm. Our office is in one of those older residential buildings that got turned into a commercial space. It’s got high ceilings and those big windows that let in a lot of dust from the street. We handle various commerce and trade tasks from here. Most of the rooms are filled with old wooden shelves that are sagging under the weight of files. We aren't a big corporation with hundreds of employees; there are just a few of us here. We usually start our day by opening up all the windows and getting the tea kettle going. A lot of our time is spent checking ledgers or talking to people on the landline. It’s not a fast-paced environment, but we stay busy enough. Sometimes the street outside gets blocked by a truck unloading goods, and we just have to wait it out. We don’t have a website that’s updated every day or a fancy logo on the door. It’s just a simple place where we come to work and earn a living. We’ve been on this road for a long time, and we like the quiet routine of it. It’s just a basic business doing basic things, and that suits us fine.
