India Pistons Limited is based out of the third floor of Nigam Centre, which is at No. 155 on Lenin Sarani. Being on the third floor means we spend a fair amount of time waiting for the lift or just taking the stairs if we’re in a hurry. Lenin Sarani is always packed with people and trams, so the noise from the street usually makes its way up to our windows. It’s a bit of an old building, but it has its own kind of charm. We’ve got desks piled high with ledgers and files because that’s just how we operate. It’s not the most modern office you’ll ever see, but it works for us. The team here is a mix of older staff who have been with the company for decades and a few younger faces. We spend the day on the phones or typing away, keeping track of everything that needs to be handled. In the afternoons, when the sun hits the front of the building, it gets a bit warm, but we just open the windows and let the city air in. There is a small tea shop downstairs where we all go to clear our heads and get away from the screens for a bit. We aren't trying to impress anyone with a sleek glass office. We just need a place to sit and get the work done. Being in the heart of the city means we’re close to everything, which helps when things get busy or when we need to run errands.
