Ideators

Ideators is based at 9 A, Jheel Road. This is right in the Dhakuria area of Kolkata, not too far from Shalimpur. It’s an old part of the city with narrow lanes and lots of history. Our office is in one of those buildings that has been around for a while. It has high ceilings and big windows, though we usually keep them shut because of the dust from the road. We aren't a big team, just a few of us who come in every morning. The space is filled with old desks and a few computers that have seen better days. We don't have a receptionist or anything like that. If the bell rings, whoever is closest to the door goes to open it. It's a very relaxed atmosphere here. We talk a lot while we work. Sometimes the conversations have nothing to do with work at all. Dhakuria is a nice place to be. You can walk down to the lake if you need a break, although we rarely have the time. The Shalimpur crossing is always packed with people and shops. We like being in the middle of all that activity. It feels like we are part of the neighborhood. We don't use any fancy management tools. We just write things down in our diaries and try to remember what needs to be finished by the end of the week. Sometimes we bring lunch from home and eat together around the main table. It feels more natural that way.
