We are located in Sikkim Commerce House at 4/1, Middleton Street in Kolkata. This area is a bit different from the old trading hubs, but it’s still got plenty of life. Our office is a decent enough space where we handle our impex business. We aren't trying to be some big, flashy company. It’s just a few rooms with some computers and filing cabinets that are mostly full. The building itself is well-known around here, so it’s not too hard for people to find us. We spend a lot of time on the computer, tracking shipments and dealing with all the legal bits of importing and exporting. It’s not always the most exciting work, but it’s what we know. We don’t have a marketing department or people to write fancy brochures. We just talk to our clients directly and tell them how it is. Sometimes the office gets a bit messy with all the files, but we know where everything is. We take turns making tea or going down to the street to grab some snacks in the afternoon. It’s a small team, so we all know about each other’s families and what’s going on. We just try to keep the business moving forward without any unnecessary drama. It’s a simple setup, but it works for what we need to do every day in the Parganas North region.
