Shree Shyam Traders

We set up shop along G. T. Road in Belur, right in the Howrah area. It’s a busy road, as anyone around here will tell you. The noise from the trucks never really stops, so we’ve grown used to talking a bit louder than most. Our building at number 295 isn't anything to look at twice, just a plain front with a heavy shutter. Inside, it’s mostly just us and the stock we move around every day. We aren't fancy people, and we don't try to act like we are. We just trade what needs trading and keep our records in big ledger books. Sometimes the dust from the road gets inside, so we spend a lot of time sweeping. It feels like a never-ending task. We’ve been part of this neighborhood for a while, and we know the tea stall guy next door pretty well. He makes the best ginger tea around. We don’t have a website or anything like that. If people want to find us, they usually just drive down the G. T. Road and look for the sign. It’s a practical way to live. We work hard, we lock up at night, and we come back the next morning. It’s just how things go for us here in Howrah. No big stories, just the daily grind of keeping the business going as best as we can. We try to stay out of the way of the heavy traffic when we leave in the evening.
