Our office is based in Bejoy Garh, which is a lively part of Kolkata. It's at 3/4 Bejoy Garh to be exact. The streets around here are narrow and usually filled with people and rickshaws. Inside, it's a bit quieter, though you can still hear the city noise coming through the windows. We spend our days managing the various construction details for projects around the city and the state. It’s a lot of phone calls and checking schedules. The humidity in Kolkata can be brutal, so we definitely appreciate the indoor shade. We have a small team here. Everyone knows each other's habits, like who takes the longest lunch or who makes the best tea. It is a practical setup without any unnecessary decorations. The walls have some old calendars and maps pinned up. We don't spend much time worrying about how the place looks to outsiders because we are usually too busy with the actual work. If you come by, you'll probably see stacks of files on every flat surface. That's just how we operate. We have been in this neighborhood for a good while now. It feels like home to most of us. We just keep things moving and try to stay ahead of the deadlines as best as we can. There is always something that needs fixing or a permit that needs a signature.
