We are on the 1st Floor of Tiretta Market, specifically at 22/B Rabindra Sarani. Hind Plastic & Rubber Co has been in this market for a good while. If you have ever been to Tiretta Market, you know it is a maze of shops and stalls. Being on the first floor helps a bit with the noise, but you still hear the hustle from the street below. The smell of rubber is something you notice right away when you walk into our unit. It’s not a bad smell, just very distinct. We have rolls of material and plastic bits stored in every available corner. Our desks are old-fashioned, made of heavy wood, and they are usually covered in samples and order forms. We don’t have any modern glass partitions or bright lights. It is all very practical and basic. Usually, the lights are a bit dim, but we have lamps for the close-up work. We handle a lot of phone calls and people stopping by to check on their orders. The staff here is small, just a few people who have known each other for years. We usually eat our lunch together at the big table in the back. It is just a regular day-to-day operation in a very old part of the city. We don’t try to be anything we are not. We just work with the materials we have and get things done for the people who need them.
