Himalaya Inn Guest House

We’ve been at this spot in Entally for a while now. Being right across from Entally Market on A J C Bose Road means it stays pretty busy around here. People come in from all over. Sometimes it's students, sometimes folks visiting family in the city. The building, Fomra Tower, isn't hard to find if you're looking for us. We try to keep things running smoothly, but it's an old city and things happen. Mostly we just make sure the rooms are ready when someone shows up. It’s a lot of laundry and checking keys. I spend most of my day at the front or dealing with something in the halls. It’s not a fancy hotel or anything like that, just a place to stay while you're in Kolkata. The traffic outside can get loud, that's just how it is on this road. We’ve seen the neighborhood change quite a bit over the years. Some guests have been coming here for a long time. They know where everything is, so they don't need much help. If you're new, we tell you where to catch the bus or find a bite. It’s just me and a couple of others keeping the place going. We don't have a big team. We just do the work and try to keep everyone satisfied enough to get a good night's rest. It’s simple work, really. It keeps us on our feet all day and night.
