If you go to the Martin Burn Building on RN Mukherjee Road, you’ll find us on the third floor in room 302. Hidalgo Impex LLP is a small operation, but we stay busy. Being in the 700001 zip code means we are right in the thick of the old business district. The building has some history to it, and so does our approach to work. We aren't using high-end AI or anything like that. We use telephones and spreadsheets. It’s mostly about coordinating with suppliers and making sure the shipping lines are actually doing what they said. We aren't trying to sound like a multi-national corporation because we aren't one. We’re just a group of people who understand how to get goods through the port. Sometimes the elevator in the building is slow, so we take the stairs. That’s kind of how we run the business too—step by step. We don't make big promises we can't keep. We just look at the orders and see what needs to be done. It’s dusty and there’s always a bit of paper clutter, but that’s just a sign that things are moving. We like being in this part of Kolkata. It feels like real work is being done all around us. We aren't here to change the world, just to make sure our clients get their stuff on time and without too much hassle. It keeps us on our toes every single day.
