We spend a lot of time here at Gangadhar Babu Lane. Hemant Cargo International Pvt Ltd has been around this part of Bowbazar for quite a while now. It is a busy area, always something moving or someone dropping off a package. Most days start early with the sounds of the street waking up. We deal with cargo and shipping stuff, mostly making sure things get from one place to another without getting stuck. It is not always easy with the traffic around here, but we manage. The office isn't fancy. It is just a place where we keep the records and talk to people who need things moved. Some people have been working here for years. We know the neighbors and the local tea stall guy knows our order by heart. Handling boxes and organizing freight takes up most of our hours. Sometimes the phones don't stop ringing and other times it is quiet enough to actually hear the ceiling fan. We just focus on the work that comes in each morning. There is always a lot of paperwork with international shipping, and we spend a fair amount of time staring at forms and computer screens. It is just what we do. Bowbazar is a tight squeeze for big trucks, but somehow it all works out in the end. We just keep at it, day after day, making sure the cargo keeps moving through the lanes. It is a simple job but it keeps us very busy.
