Hanuman Dass Agarwalla

Our place is at P-12 New Howrah Bridge Approach Road. It is a very busy area because of all the traffic coming off the bridge, so there is always a layer of dust on the windows no matter how often we clean them. Hanuman Dass Agarwalla has been around for a long time, and we have seen the area change a lot over the years. The office is usually filled with the sound of trucks rumbling past outside. We have a lot of heavy ledgers and old wooden desks that have seen better days. It is a bit of a maze inside with all the stacks of paper and items we keep on hand. We aren't really the type to use computers for everything; we still like to write things down in our books. It feels more solid that way. Every day brings something different, whether it’s a supplier dropping off goods or a neighbor stopping by to chat for a minute. We keep the doors open when it isn’t too hot to get a bit of a breeze. It’s a lot of manual work and keeping track of numbers, which can get tiring by the end of the week. We usually wrap things up on Saturday afternoon and look forward to the quiet on Sunday. It’s just a normal life here, working hard and making sure the bills get paid. We don't expect much more than that from our time here at the office.
