Uma Jewellery Box

If you go down Hanspukur First Lane, near the Marwari Balika Vidyalaya, you will find us at number 13. This area is quite cramped and the lanes are narrow, but it is where all the action is. We spend our days making and selling boxes for jewelry. It’s a lot of manual work, fitting the velvet linings and making sure the hinges on the boxes actually work like they should. Our workspace is pretty crowded with stacks of cardboard and rolls of fabric. There is usually a faint smell of glue in the air because we are always putting something together. It is not a polished office or a big factory, just a small local setup where we handle things ourselves. We get a lot of people coming in from the nearby school area or traders who need boxes for their shops. The street outside is always full of people and carts, so it can be a bit chaotic getting materials delivered. We don't have any fancy marketing plans or anything. We just make the boxes and hope people like the work we do. Some days are slow, and other days we can't keep up with the orders, especially when there are a lot of weddings coming up. We just keep our heads down and focus on the boxes. It is a simple life and a simple business right here in the lane, doing what we know.
