Swara

Swara is based at No. 157 Rabindra Sarani, right inside the Goenka Mansion. We are up on the 2nd floor in Room No. 301. If you know this part of Kolkata, you know how busy and crowded Rabindra Sarani gets with all the trading and shops. Goenka Mansion is an old building with a lot of history and other businesses inside it. We’ve been here for a long time, dealing with our daily trade and managing our stock. The room isn't huge, but it fits everything we need like our desks and cupboards. Most of our day is spent talking to suppliers or customers who climb up to the second floor to see us. It’s a very traditional way of doing business, nothing like those modern offices in the newer parts of the city. We keep our ledgers, handle our accounts, and make sure the goods are moving out to the buyers. The fan hums all day and there is always the sound of the street coming through the windows. We aren't trying to be anything we aren't. It’s just a regular trading business in the heart of the old city. People know us by the name Swara and they know where to find us in Room 301. We just take things one day at a time here and try to keep up with the busy pace of the neighborhood. There is always someone coming or going from the mansion floors.
