If you look for us, you’ll find Global at 7 A. K. Md. Siddique Lane. It’s right by Wellesly Park Street in Kolkata-700 016. The office is pretty basic. We have some desks, a few chairs that have seen better days, and a lot of files. We handle logistics and moving goods, which means we spend a lot of time on the phone or typing away at keyboards. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s what we know. The area around Wellesly Park Street is always full of life, so there’s always something to look at out the window during a break. We don't use a lot of fancy jargon when we talk to people. If a shipment is late, we say it’s late and try to find out why. Honesty seems better than making up excuses. We’ve been at this address for a while now, and we’ve seen the neighborhood change quite a bit. Despite the name Global, we feel very much like a local Kolkata business. We know the guy who delivers the newspapers and the shops down the lane. Our days are filled with small tasks that eventually add up to things getting delivered. It’s a lot of coordination. We aren't trying to change the world. We are just trying to make sure these boxes get to where they are going. That’s plenty for us to handle.
