We are situated at 2/6 Bijoygarh in the Jadavpur area of Kolkata. This is an old part of the city with a lot of history and very narrow streets. Working for the Modern India Construction Company unit here means being right in the middle of all that Jadavpur energy. It is a busy neighborhood, with the university nearby and people constantly moving around. Our office is in a building that has been around for quite a while. It has that specific Kolkata character, with high ceilings and walls that have seen many seasons. It can get pretty loud outside with the rickshaws and the people talking at the tea stalls, but we are used to it by now. Inside, it is just us and our desks, surrounded by stacks of paper and the usual office clutter. We don't try to look like a big fancy corporation because that is just not who we are. We are just a local team doing our work in a space that feels lived-in and honest. The commute through the Jadavpur traffic is always an adventure, but being in Bijoygarh makes you feel connected to the heart of the city. We just keep our heads down and handle the business as it comes, day after day, in this little corner of West Bengal where things are always a bit chaotic but somehow get done.
