You can find Gembwell Exim on the 6th floor of Poddar Court, right at Gate No. 2 on Rabindra Sarani. If you’ve ever been to this part of Kolkata, you know it’s a massive building with a lot of different businesses tucked away in every corner. Our room is number 23. It’s not the biggest office, and it gets a bit crowded when we have all the staff in at once. Being in such a central location means there’s always a lot of energy around, but it also means dealing with the elevators, which can be a real test of patience some days. We handle a lot of export and import work from this small space. There are papers everywhere—on the desks, on the shelves, sometimes even on the floor when we’re sorting things out. We don’t have a receptionist or anything formal. Usually, whoever is closest to the door just says hello. We aren't interested in looking like a big corporation. We just want to make sure the work gets done and the orders are filled. It’s a lot of phone calls and checking manifests. The tea guy comes around twice a day, and that’s usually when we take a short break. It’s a very normal, busy office life. We’ve been at 18 Rabindra Sarani for a long time, and we’ve gotten used to the noise and the pace of the building.
