Our office at No. 46B Rafi Ahmed Kidwai Road is on the second floor, which means we get plenty of exercise going up and down those stairs every day. Gassin Pierre Private Limited has been operating from here for a good bit now, and we’ve gotten used to the specific sounds of this neighborhood. It’s not a quiet place by any means, with the traffic and the people constantly moving below. We spend most of our time at our desks, pushing papers and making sure things are on track. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, and the ceiling fan makes a clicking sound on its highest setting, but it’s home for us. We don't have a fancy lobby or a receptionist to greet people; you just walk in and find us working. Usually, there’s a stack of files that needs attention, and someone is always looking for a stapler that’s gone missing. We have our routines, like who makes the first round of tea and who remembers to lock the windows when the rain starts. It’s a practical setup, nothing more and nothing less. We don't spend much time worrying about how the office looks to outsiders because we’re too busy keeping things moving. It’s just how it is in this part of town—you get your work done and head home when the sun goes down. It is a long day usually, but we are used to it by now.
