You can find Gannon Dunkerley & Co Ltd over at the Rashmi Metalics worksite in Kharagpur, West Bengal. This is very much an on-site kind of operation. It’s dusty, busy, and there is always something going on. We don’t have a separate office building in the city; we work right where the action is. It’s practical because it keeps us close to the machinery and the workers. Kharagpur is a big industrial area, and being part of the Rashmi Metalics site means we are right in the thick of it. The guys wear high-vis vests and hard hats most of the day. There’s a small cabin where we keep the records and have our meetings. It’s not the most comfortable place, especially when it gets humid, but it gets the job done. We don't really do marketing or sales pitches from here. Our work speaks for itself when people see what we are building or fixing. Most of the crew lives nearby or stays in the staff quarters. We eat lunch together and talk about the progress of the steel plant or whatever project is currently on the table. It’s a gritty, real-world workplace. No one is wearing suits here. We use simple English to communicate because the team comes from all over. It’s about getting the steel and the structures right, nothing more than that. It keeps us busy and out of trouble.
