We are Ganesh Packers And Movers, and we work out of 2/5 Ashoke Nagar in the Tollygunge area. If you come by, you’ll see plenty of cardboard boxes, rolls of bubble wrap, and rolls of brown tape scattered around. This is a business built on packing things up and hauling them somewhere else. Our trucks are usually parked nearby, and they’ve seen a lot of miles. The office is really just a place to take calls and schedule the next job. We spend most of our time out at other people's houses or offices. It’s physical work, lifting heavy furniture and carrying boxes down narrow staircases. Our clothes usually have a bit of dust on them by the end of the day. We don't have a big marketing department or anything. Most of our work comes from people in the neighborhood who saw our truck or heard about us from a friend. We try to be careful with the items, but sometimes things get a bit chaotic when you’re trying to load a whole house into one truck. We have a small crew that has worked together for a long time, so we know who handles the heavy stuff and who is better at packing the fragile things. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s what we do. We just focus on getting the boxes from point A to point B without too much trouble. It takes a lot of sweat, but we get it done eventually.
