Gammon India Limited

You can find us over at 11/4 College Road in Howrah. This part of the city is old and has a lot of character. Gammon India Limited has been using this space to keep things running in this region. The building has seen many years, and you can tell by the walls and the way the windows are set. It’s not a modern glass tower. It’s a real place where people have been working for a long time. The traffic on College Road is usually pretty heavy, so there’s always the sound of horns and engines in the background. We have our desks crammed into the rooms here. There is no central air conditioning, just a few wall units that do their best. We deal with a lot of paperwork because that’s just how the system works for us. It’s not always easy, especially when it gets humid in West Bengal. We drink a lot of tea and just keep at it. The people working here have been around for years and know the ins and outs of the local area. We don't have a PR department or anything like that. If you need something, you just talk to whoever is available at the desk. It’s a very direct way of operating. We just try to finish what we started. It’s a busy life but it keeps us moving and the days go by fairly fast. We don't really mind the noise much anymore.
