If you head down to 9 India Exchange Place, you’ll find the office for G. L. Dokania & Co. It’s an old part of the city, and the building has that classic feel to it with thick walls and high ceilings. We’ve been operating from this address for quite some time now. The office is usually filled with the sound of typing and people talking on their phones. It’s a professional space but it’s definitely not cold or stiff. We know our clients well, and many of them have been coming to see us for years. There are stacks of files on almost every surface, but we generally know where everything is. The windows look out onto the busy street, and the noise from outside filters in, which keeps things from feeling too quiet. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. Most of our work comes from word of mouth and people knowing where we are. We handle the numbers and the paperwork that keep businesses running. It’s a small, tight-knit group here, and we usually have tea together in the late afternoon. It’s a simple way to work, focusing on the tasks at hand and making sure the details are right. We aren’t trying to be anything we aren’t; we just provide the services people need from our corner of the exchange. Every morning starts with a quick meeting to sort through the day's tasks.
