Hamidia Road is always loud, and being right near Hotel Rajdoot means there’s always something happening outside our door. At Frontier Refrigerators, located at number 7, we’re mostly surrounded by tools and spare parts. It’s a bit of a greasy job, working on cooling units and fixing things that have broken down. The shop isn’t much to look at, just a counter and a lot of heavy equipment sitting around on the floor. Most of the time, the floor is covered in metal shavings or drops of oil. We spend our days tinkering with compressors and trying to figure out why a fridge isn't getting cold enough. It’s a lot of manual labor, and my fingernails are rarely clean. On hot days, the shop feels like an oven, which is a bit funny considering we spend our lives dealing with refrigeration. We have a small back room where we keep the more expensive components, and it’s usually a bit of a disaster area in there. Customers come in looking frustrated because their food is spoiling, and we do what we can to help them out as quickly as possible. It’s not a glamorous business, and we don’t have a fancy showroom with bright lights and fancy displays. It’s just a workshop where we work hard and try to stay on top of all the repairs. We’ve been at this address for a long time, and all the neighbors know us.
