Our office is tucked away in Flat 3A of the Ramvila building on M G Road. It is right near the Kabardanga More, which is always a bit chaotic with people and rickshaws everywhere. Being in Ramchandrapur means we are right in the middle of the bustle of Kolkata. The building itself is older, and you have to walk up some stairs to get to us. It is not the most modern place, but it serves our purpose for managing the Exide business in this part of the city. We have a few desks and a lot of paper stacks everywhere. Sometimes the humidity makes everything feel a bit damp, but that is just Kolkata for you. We spend our days coordinating with dealers and making sure the stock levels are right for the coming week. It is not a showroom, so we do not have fancy displays for people to look at. Most people who come here are looking for specific battery types or have some paperwork to settle with us. We have a small window that looks out over the street, though the noise from the horns is constant throughout the day. We have got a kettle for making tea, which we do often to keep ourselves going. It is a small team here, and we all know each other's business. There is no corporate dress code; we just wear what is comfortable for the heat. We focus on the work.
