Essar Steel Limited

We at Essar Steel Limited have been here for a while now at 12A, Avenue North. Most people in Santoshpur know the building. It’s nothing fancy, just some desks and a lot of filing cabinets. We spend most of the morning answering the phone and checking the ledger. Steel isn't the most exciting thing to talk about every day, but it’s what we know. Santoshpur is a good spot for us because it’s easy to get to. The tea shop nearby is where we usually end up for a break in the afternoon. Sometimes the paperwork gets backed up, especially when the weather is bad, but we get through it eventually. It’s just a few of us working here. If you come by, you’ll see the sign out front. It’s a bit faded from the sun and rain over the years. We mostly deal with local orders and talk to folks about what they need for their building projects. Nothing too complicated. My cousin used to work the front desk but now it’s just me and a couple of others. We try to keep things organized but you know how it goes with a busy office. The space gets a bit cramped when a big shipment is being processed. We don’t have a big fancy lobby. Just a couple of old chairs that have seen better days. It’s a steady living. The neighborhood has changed since we first moved in, but we’re still here doing the same thing. We don’t bother with much advertising. Word of mouth works well enough in this part of Kolkata.
