You can find Enaya Prints down at 3 Jora Pukur Lane, right near Girish Park. It’s one of those classic old Kolkata neighborhoods where the lanes are narrow and full of life. We operate as a small partnership, mostly focusing on getting prints onto different types of fabric. Our workspace isn't anything fancy; it’s basically a workshop where the smell of ink and the sound of machines are always present. We have shelves filled with different screens and buckets of dye tucked into the corners. It can get a bit messy, but that’s just how printing goes. We don't have a formal reception area, so if you come by, you’ll probably find us mid-work with ink on our hands. We do a lot of the heavy lifting ourselves, from moving the fabric rolls to checking each print as it comes off the line. The building we’re in has these old, high ceilings that help with the heat, which is a blessing in the summer. We mostly deal with local traders and people who need custom work done. We don’t really do any advertising because word usually gets around the neighborhood if you do a halfway decent job. It’s a simple, hardworking life here in the 700006 area. We just focus on the task at hand and try to get the orders out before the day ends. It’s not a polished corporate office, but it’s ours.
