Electrosteel Castings Limited. Kolkata

We are the ones representing Electrosteel Castings Limited out here in Solapur, Maharashtra. Our office is located at 13 B Onkar Society in Majerwadi, right off Hotgai Road. It is a long way from the main headquarters in Kolkata, but we keep things running smoothly on this side of the country anyway. Solapur is much drier than Bengal, which was the first thing I noticed when I started working here. The Onkar Society is a decent neighborhood, mostly just regular people going about their daily lives. We have our little workspace set up inside one of the units. Most of the time, I am busy coordinating between the local contractors and the guys back east. Hotgai Road can get pretty busy with trucks and buses, especially in the late afternoons when everyone is heading home. It's a bit dusty, but you get used to it after a week or two. We don't really do much marketing or anything fancy here. We just focus on the task at hand. If someone comes by with a question about the pipes or castings, we just sit down and talk it through. There's a small park nearby where I sometimes walk during my lunch break to get some fresh air. The weather is the biggest challenge, especially in May when it gets really hot in the middle of the day. We just keep the water cooler full and keep working through the folders on the desk. It’s a simple life for us.
