Naktala Road is always buzzing, especially near our spot at 23/18. Kolkata has a certain pace, and we’re right in the thick of it at Dtdc Courier & Cargo.Ltd. The office is usually full of packages of all shapes and sizes. Sometimes it’s hard to find a place to stand when a big shipment comes in. We’ve got a few old wooden desks that have seen better days. Our staff knows the local routes by heart. We spend our mornings sorting through bags and making sure the labels are clear. It gets pretty hot in the afternoons, so we keep the windows open. You can hear the trams and the honking from outside all day long. It’s just a normal working environment. We aren't trying to impress anyone with a lobby. We’re more worried about the rain during monsoon season and keeping the cargo dry. Someone is always checking their watch to make sure the evening dispatch is on time. We usually have a bit of a laugh during our break time. It’s a small team, so we all know each other’s families and stories. Dealing with cargo means you never know what the day will bring. One day it’s quiet, and the next, we are swamped. That’s just the way it goes here in Kolkata. We’ve been at this Naktala address for quite some time now.
