Down here on Sashibhusan Banerjee Road in Kolkata, we’ve been putting together steel structures for a good while. D.R. Steel Construction is basically a small team of guys who know how to handle heavy lifting and metal. The area around 15/B can get pretty crowded, especially with the traffic in this part of West Bengal, but we manage. Our building isn't much to look at from the outside, but it houses everything we need to keep the business going. We handle the steel bits and the construction side of things for local clients who need things built to last. It’s loud work and usually pretty sweaty given the Kolkata humidity, but it’s what we do. We don't have a marketing department or anyone to write fancy speeches. If you come by, you’ll probably see someone covered in a bit of grease or dust. We prefer it that way because it means work is actually happening. We’ve seen the neighborhood change over the years, but our focus on steel hasn't really shifted. We take the orders as they come in and try to stay organized, even when the paperwork starts piling up on the desk. It’s a simple operation, really. We just supply and build with steel. No more, no less. It’s honest work and it keeps the lights on for the families who work here. We're just a regular local business doing what we know best in our little corner of the city.
