Dog & Cattle Clinic

We are located at 57 Shanti Nagar on Moore Avenue here in Kolkata. The Dog & Cattle Clinic is right near the Kidzee School, so we get to hear the sounds of the kids playing during the day. It’s an interesting mix because we don’t just see dogs; being a cattle clinic too means we sometimes deal with larger animals or at least talk to people who keep them. Shanti Nagar is a well-known spot, and Moore Avenue has its own pace. The humidity in Kolkata can be tough, so we try to keep the clinic as cool as we can for the animals. It’s an old-fashioned kind of place in some ways. We have the usual medical tools and a lot of folders for record-keeping. The street outside can get a bit narrow with parked cars, but people manage to find us. We see a lot of street dogs that local people look after, plus the family pets from the nearby houses. Working with cattle as well as dogs keeps us on our toes because they are very different to handle. Sometimes we have to go out on calls, but most of the time we are here at number 57. The floor is easy to wash down, which is good because it gets dirty fast with all the paws coming through. It’s a busy, noisy, and very real part of our daily life in this neighborhood, and we like it that way.
