DEYS ENGINEERING WORKS

Deys Engineering Works has been at 28 Tarasankar Sarani for a long time. We are right by Tala Park, so it’s easy to find. If you walk by, you’ll probably hear the sound of the lathe machines or someone welding in the back. The shop is filled with the smell of cutting oil and metal shavings. It’s an old building, and the walls have seen better days, but the machines are kept in good shape. We do all kinds of engineering jobs. People bring in broken parts from their cars or old factory machines, and we try to make a new one or fix what’s there. It’s a lot of precise work with calipers and measuring tools. My father started this place, and I just kept it going. We have a couple of guys who have been with us since the beginning. We don't have a website or anything like that. We just rely on the folks in the neighborhood and the local businesses who know we do a decent job. It’s dusty and loud, and your clothes get dirty by ten in the morning. But there’s something nice about making something with your hands. We just take it one job at a time and try not to rush things too much. That’s how mistakes happen. We like the rhythm of the workshop and the people who drop by for a chat.
