We have been at 94, Lenin Sarani for quite a long time now. People around Dharmatala probably know the shop just by the sound of the saws running. It is mostly just a place filled with sawdust and pieces of timber waiting to be turned into something. Design Wood isn't one of those big, fancy showrooms you see in the malls. It is a practical workshop where we get our hands dirty every single day. We make all sorts of things like tables, stools, or even just small frames if that is what someone needs. The street outside, Lenin Sarani, is always noisy with traffic and people rushing by, but inside we just focus on the grain of the wood. Some days are really hectic when we have a big order to finish, and other days it is just us fixing a loose leg on a chair. We use local wood mostly because it is what we can get our hands on. The shop is not huge, and we have to move stuff around just to find the right tool. If you are walking near Dharmatala, you will see our sign. It is a bit faded now, but it is still there. We don't have a lot of staff, just a couple of guys who know how to handle a hammer. Sometimes things take a bit longer than we planned, but that is just how working with wood goes. It is a slow process that cannot be rushed.
