We spend most of our days over at 20/2 R.N.Tagore Road. It's in Thakurpukur, and if you know Kolkata, you know the traffic can be a bit much sometimes. D.C.Paul Group Construction Pvt Ltd. isn't some fancy glass-tower operation; we're mostly just guys in boots and hats. Most mornings start with tea and looking over some blueprints. The office is tucked away, and it’s been there for quite a while now. People come by to talk about building things, usually houses or small apartments nearby. It’s loud, dusty, and usually pretty humid. My desk has stacks of permits that never seem to go away. We handle a lot of different projects, and it's mostly about making sure the bricks get laid straight and the cement mixes right. Dealing with the heat in West Bengal makes the work slow down sometimes, but we just keep at it. Some of the crew has been with us since the start. We don't really do big fancy meetings, just quick chats on-site to see what's happening. The neighborhood around R.N.Tagore Road knows us pretty well by now. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s what we do every day from Monday to Saturday. Sometimes even Sundays if a project is running behind. It’s just how things are here in Kolkata. We try to stay organized, but with so many moving parts in construction, there's always something to fix or a delivery that's late.
