Dave Impex

Dave Impex is situated in a very historic part of the city. We’re on the first floor of White Tower, which is at 115 College Street in Bowbazar. If you know College Street, you know it’s famous for books and old buildings. Our office is Room No M. It’s a bit of a walk up the stairs since it’s only the first floor, so we rarely bother with any elevators if there are any. The room itself is compact. We’ve got shelves filled with samples and files. Being in Bowbazar means there is constant noise from the trams and the crowds outside, but we’ve grown to like it. It’s the sound of the city. The White Tower isn’t actually all that white anymore; it’s weathered from the years and the city air. Inside Room M, we’ve got our desks pushed against the walls to make more space in the middle. We do a lot of our import and export coordination from right here. Sometimes the smell of old paper from the bookstores nearby wafts in through the window. It’s a very specific vibe. We don’t have a receptionist or a waiting lounge. If you come by, you just walk right into the middle of the work. It’s a bit cluttered and the lighting is a bit yellow, but it’s our place. We’ve stayed here because it’s easy for everyone to reach. It is just a simple, hardworking office.
