D Kamal & Company

D Kamal & Company is based in the old part of Calcutta, near the GPO. We are in a building on Clive Row, right near Andrew House. Our office is on the third floor, room number two. This area has a lot of history. The buildings are tall and the hallways are narrow. It feels like you are stepping back in time a bit. We have been operating from this room for many years. It is a small setup, mostly just desks and a lot of files. We handle various trading activities and office work. The stairs are a bit steep, so it keeps us fit. Since we are in the heart of the business district, it is always noisy outside. You hear the horns, the people shouting, and the general bustle of the city. We don't have a lobby or a receptionist. If you come by, you just knock on the door. Most of our clients are people we have known for decades. We still do a lot of things the old-fashioned way, with physical ledgers and paper notes. It works for us. The tea guy comes around a couple of times a day, which is the highlight of the afternoon. It is a simple, hardworking life in a very traditional part of the city.
