We set up our office at 2 Lal Bazar Street. It’s a famous part of Kolkata, mostly because the police headquarters is right there. The whole area is always packed with people and there’s a lot of noise and movement throughout the day. We are in the infrastructure business, which means we handle various types of building and civil engineering projects. It’s a lot of logistics and trying to make sure the right workers and materials end up in the right places at the right time. Our office isn't fancy at all; it’s mostly just some old desks, a few chairs, and stacks of paper everywhere. We spend a lot of our time dealing with the very practical side of the job, like where to source the best gravel or how to deal with a delay at a site. We don't use any of that fancy corporate talk you hear from the big firms. We just tell people the truth about how a project is going. Working right in the middle of the city has its own set of problems, especially when you’re trying to get heavy equipment in and out of the Lal Bazar area. But being so central makes it a lot easier for us to meet with different people and get things signed. We aren't a huge team, just a few of us who have been in this industry for a long time. We’ve watched the city change quite a bit from our office window. We just keep our heads down and focus.
