Consultancy Manufacturing Co. is based in Ballygunge, at a place called Jay-Jayanti on Mandeville Gardens. It’s a nice enough area, though the building itself has that older Kolkata feel to it. Our address is 11/A, right at 2-A. We have a mix of things going on here, some consulting and some manufacturing, hence the name. It’s not a massive factory; it’s more of a specialized workshop where we figure things out. The rooms have high ceilings and a lot of old files. We don’t have a marketing team or a sales force. Most of our work comes from long-standing relationships we’ve built over the years. We spend a lot of time sitting around a big wooden table discussing designs or looking at production schedules. It’s a quiet kind of work compared to the busy main roads. Sometimes we disagree on how to handle a project, but we usually sort it out over some tea. We aren't interested in being the most modern office in the city. We like our space in Mandeville Gardens and the way we do things. It’s a bit slow-paced sometimes, but the quality stays where it should be. We just keep our heads down and focus on the orders we have. It’s a simple, honest way to run a company without any of the corporate jargon. We have been at this location for a while and we plan to stay.
