College Of Maritime Studies & Research

The College Of Maritime Studies & Research is situated at 48/16A Marine Villa in the Swiss Park area of Tollygunge. We have been here for a while, focusing on teaching people about the sea and everything that goes with it. It’s a bit of a niche subject, but we find it interesting. Our building is a bit older, which gives it some character, though it means we are always fixing something or other. Inside, you’ll find classrooms and some offices where we plan out the lessons. We aren't a massive university with thousands of students. We are a smaller setup where everyone tends to know everyone else’s name. It feels more like a community than a cold institution. We talk about ships, navigation, and maritime laws most of the day. The instructors here have spent time at sea themselves, so they know what they are talking about from real experience, not just books. We don't use much fancy marketing to get people in. Usually, it's just someone who heard about us from a friend or a relative who works in shipping. We try to keep the atmosphere relaxed but professional enough to get the learning done. Tollygunge is a nice area to be based in, and Swiss Park has its own quiet charm. We are just here doing our part to help the next group of people get ready for their careers on the water. It’s practical, honest education.
