Colour Chromes Pvt Ltd

Chittaranjan Avenue is always loud and the Metro station is so close that we can actually feel the vibrations in the floor sometimes. It is a very busy part of Kolkata to work in. We are situated right opposite the Electronic Mall on the 3rd floor. Colour Chromes Pvt Ltd is where we spend our ten to six every day. The office has these high ceilings but the paint is starting to peel a bit in the corners. We do not really mind it though. We have a lot of samples lying around everywhere, mostly pigments and color charts for the work we do. The light coming through the big windows is good for looking at different shades, even if the glass is always a bit grimy from the city soot. We are a small staff and we all know each other well. The stairs up to the third floor are a real workout every morning because the elevator is often out of service. We usually send the younger boys down to get tea from the little stall near the metro entrance twice a day. It is a noisy place but it feels alive with all the people outside. We have these old metal cupboards full of files going back many years. We do not throw much away. It feels honest to work here and we just handle the orders and talk to the transporters to keep things moving. It gets very humid in the afternoons.
