We are located on the 18th floor of the Chatterjee International Centre, specifically in rooms 3 and 4. Penguin Trading Agencies Ltd. has been around this part of Kolkata, at 33A J L Nehru Road, for a long time. Being up on the 18th floor gives us a bit of a view of the city, but mostly we’re just looking at piles of paper and office files. It’s a very busy building with a lot of other offices, so the elevators can be a real wait sometimes, which can be frustrating. Our space isn't overly modern or sleek. It feels like a workplace that’s seen a lot of years go by. We handle trading and agency work, which means a lot of phone calls and checking various ledgers. There isn't any fancy decor or expensive furniture here. Just the desks, chairs, and the basic equipment we need to do the job every day. The staff is small, and we’ve all known each other for a long time. We go about our work in a quiet, steady way. Kolkata is a noisy and chaotic city, but up here it’s a little bit more contained. We don't have a big marketing department or anyone to write fancy slogans. We just provide the same services we’ve always provided from this same address. It’s a steady sort of life. We get in early, do what needs doing, and deal with the challenges of running a trading business in a busy metro.
