Central Glass Ceramic Research Institute

We’ve been over here at 1B Gobinda Roy Lane for a while now. Most people around Kalighat know where the post office is, and we’re right in that neighborhood of Kolkata. This place is all about glass and ceramic research. It’s not a fancy shop or anything, just a bunch of people working with materials and kilns and testing stuff out in the labs. We spend our days looking at how different ceramics behave and trying to figure out new ways to use glass. The building has that old Kolkata feel to it. It gets a bit busy on the lane sometimes with the local traffic, but we manage. People come in and out, mostly staff and folks interested in the technical side of things. We aren't doing any big sales pitches here. It’s mostly just the day-to-day work of the Central Glass Ceramic Research Institute. You might see some of us grabbing tea nearby or walking down towards the main road after a long shift. We’ve got a lot of equipment packed into the rooms. Sometimes the air smells like heated clay or chemicals, which is just part of the job. It’s a quiet enough spot once you get inside the gates. We don’t really have a big sign out front that screams for attention, but if you’re looking for us, you’ll find us easily enough near the P. O. Kailghat area. Just a group of locals and professionals doing our thing in this corner of the city.
