Calcutta Anodizing Works

Calcutta Anodizing Works is located at 1, Ganesh Chandra Avenue. This is a very busy street in the heart of the city. We’ve been at this address for more years than I can count. The building is one of those old ones with thick walls and high ceilings. It stays relatively cool inside, which is good because the work we do involves a lot of heat. Anodizing is a specialized process, and our workshop is full of tanks and chemicals. It’s not a place for someone wearing nice clothes. We are usually in our work gear, and there is always a bit of a smell from the tanks. Ganesh Chandra Avenue is always full of life. You can hear the trams and the honking of the yellow taxis all day long. We don't have any fancy office equipment. We still use a lot of handwritten ledgers and old-fashioned ways of keeping track of things. It works for us, so we don’t see a reason to change. Most of our customers are people who have been coming to us for decades. They know that at number 1, they will find us doing the same work we’ve always done. We don't have a big marketing plan or a social media page. We just open the doors in the morning and wait for the work to come in. It’s a traditional way of doing things in a city that is always changing around us. We just keep at it.
