Cabs Electra Industries

Our shop is on the ground floor on Ram Swarup Khettry Road. If you know New Alipore, you know it can get pretty busy with traffic and people walking by all day. Cabs Electra Industries is just a small place, really. We handle electrical items and cables mostly. The space is a bit cramped because we have a lot of stock piled up on the shelves. Sometimes it’s hard to find a specific tool right away, but we eventually get there. I’ve been working here for years and the smell of the place—a mix of old dust and some plastic—is just part of my daily life now. We don't do big ads. Most of our customers are locals or people who have heard about us from someone else. We open the shutters every morning and start checking what needs to be delivered or fixed. The tea stall nearby is where we spend our breaks. It’s nice to talk to the neighbors about the weather or how the road is getting more crowded. We don't have any fancy office chairs or a front desk. It’s just us, the workbench, and the supplies. We try to be honest about how long a job will take. If we can't do something, we just say so. It saves everyone a lot of trouble. Being at No. 11 has been okay for us, and we plan to stay here as long as we can keep working.
